“My goal is to raise the students’ average learning results.”
“I have completed the online courses on Educate-it for blended learning in order to use some of the tools for my course. However, the online courses were mostly about the tools themselves, and less about their effectiveness and assessment of how they influence students’ performance. I discussed this issue at our staff meeting, and our Education Director suggested that I should join this lecturers’ community.”
Sanli will try to use pre-recorded videos for his Modern Condensed Matter course to see if this allows him to discuss the subject more in depth during class. The teaching subject is too vast to fit into 7.5 EC. Other universities spread the course over a full year. Sanli hopes to cover more topics in the given time by using the blended learning tools without sacrificing depth.
“My goal is to provide the means for all students to be prepared for engaging in the discussions and learning from the lectures. Considering the variation in students’ background knowledge, each student can best prepare at her/his own pace. In my opinion, that the most important advantage of blended learning tools.”
